¡Este año Marula Café cumple 15 años y lo celebramos con una fiesta por todo lo alto dentro de Curtcircuit! En esta ocasión la celebración trae por primera vez a España a una de las bandas francesas actuales que más nos gustan, ¡los incomparables Cotonete! En 2005, Frank Chatona y Florian Pellissier fundaron Cotonete con el sueño de traer un repertorio funky de los 70 a Brasil. En 2019 lanzaron su primer álbum ‘Super-Vilains’ gracias a su productor y amante del vinilo Melik Bencheikh. Solo tres meses después, lanzaron otro trabajo discográfico con el famoso cantante brasileño Di Melo en el que el tema principal A.E.I.O.U es reproducido en todo el mundo por los DJs más famosos (Gilles Petterson, Sadar Bahar, Folamour…). Este 2024 presentan su segundo LP producido por el mítico productor Guts que los ha guiado hacia la luz del sol, el ritmo, la calidez… Lleno de grooves imparables y colaboraciones exquisitas (Omar, Leron Thomas, Sabrina Malhreiros…), ¡imperdible!

Enguany el Marula Café fa 15 anys i ho celebrem amb una gran festa dins de Curtcircuit! En aquesta ocasió la celebració porta per primera vegada a Espanya a una de les bandes actuals franceses que més ens agraden, els incomparables Cotonete! L’any 2005, Frank Chatona i Florian Pellissier van fundar Cotonete amb el somni de portar un repertori funky dels 70 al Brasil. L’any 2019 van llançar el seu primer àlbum ‘Super-Vilains’ gràcies al seu productor i amant del vinil Melik Bencheikh. Només tres mesos després, van llançar un altre treball discogràfic amb el famós cantant brasiler Di Melo en el qual el tema principal A.E.I.O.U és reproduït a tot el món pels DJs més famosos (Gilles Petterson, Sadar Bahar, Folamour…). Aquest 2024 presenten el seu segon LP produït pel mític productor Guts que els ha guiat cap a la llum del sol, el ritme, la calidesa… Ple de grooves imparables i col·laboracions exquisides (Omar, Leron Thomas, Sabrina Malhreiros…), imperdible!

This year Marula turns fifteen and, as usual, we want to celebrate big time. This time we’ve decided to indulge ourselves bringing for the first time to Spain one of the bands we like the most from our neighbor France, the incomparable Cotonete.

In 2005, Frank Chatona and Florian Pellissier founded Cotonete with the hardly secret dream of bringing a funky 70’s repertoire to Brazil. They start a series of concerts including the Jazz- mix in Vienne (2015), New Morning and Duc des Lombards (Paris), Dingwalls (London). They’ve recorded brazilian singer Simone Mazzer’s second album (CAJA/Prado Records), re- leased 3 maxis 33T in 2017 (including Phil Asher, Hugo LX, DJ Deep remixes) and produced a track with their friend Dimitri From Paris whose track «Parribean Disco» has been played in all clubs & festivals during summer 2018 and sets the band as THE french jazz funk reference

They finally release their first album « Super-Vilains » thanks to their producteur and vinyl lover Melik Bencheikh (Heartbeat Vinyl/Heavenly Sweetness) in february 2019. 3 months later, Cotonete released a second album with the famous brazilian singer Di Melo (Favorite Recordings) on which the main track A.E.I.O.U is played all over the world by most famousDjs (Gilles Petterson, Sadar Bahar, Folamour…).

This 2024 they present their second full-length produced by the legendary producer Guts who has guided them towards sunlight, rhythm, warmth and all the colors of his rainbow. Full of unstoppable grooves and exquisite collaborations (Omar, Leron Thomas, Sabrina Malhreiros…) their first album has already received the blessing of factotums like Gilles Peterson
